The Homestead wins awards, hearts
GLEN ARBOR – For too long, the charming getaway, The Homestead Resort, has been one of Michigan’s best-kept secrets.
That secret is out, officially.
Earlier this year, this stunning, intimate retreat in the northwest corner of Northern Michigan was named “Best of the Best” resorts in the Readers’ Choice Awards from the Oakland Press.
“This award is a real honor because it comes from the people,” says Jamie Jewell,
Senior Manager at The Homestead. “It’s also a validation of our commitment to
delivering excellent service, programming and facilities that are second to none.”
The property is enjoying a period of exciting growth, partly because when guests come, they come back again and again. About 80 percent of departing guests surveyed say they plan to return.
The resort’s emphasis on “Lifetime Skills Programs” in tennis, golf, and fly-fishing are popular with people who want to learn the nuances of those sports. The Dave Pelz Golf School is a must for anybody who has ever three-putted or muffed an easy chip shot. Translation: every golfer.
The new Spa Amira opened earlier this year, featuring sweeping views of the nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes.
A new Family Mountain packages for four includes three nights lodging in a one-bedroom suite at Stony Brook Lodge, breakfast each morning and an evening with an outdoor barbecue and chairlift ride to the top of Bay Mountain for Songs, Stories and S'Mores. Rates are from $93 per person, per night, based on a family of four and are subject to applicable tariff and taxes. For more, visit www.thehomesteadresort.com. |
