Dearborn club hosts British Open qualifier
DEARBORN – The day after this year’s Buick Open, many of the best golfers on the PGA Tour won’t be leaving Michigan. They’ll be teeing it up in an atmosphere even more intimate than the fan-friendly Buick Open.
Dearborn Country Club will host qualifying for the 2008 British Open on Monday, June 30. Players already committed to play include Davis Love III, Steve Elkington, Daniel Chopra, Camilo Villegas, Brett Wetterich, J.B. Holmes, and Sean O'Hare. For a complete list of players competing, go to www.opengolf.com.
General admission to see this historic Donald Ross course is free, but there are also a few VIP Pavilion Packages available for less than $100, including clubhouse access, preferred seating and parking and access to a buffet and open bar. To purchase VIP passes, contact Mike Bageris, of the Dearborn Country Club, at 313-561-0800.
Over the years, the Dearborn Country Club has hosted the Mazda Senior Tournament Players Championship and the Lady Stroh's Open. Distinguished golfers including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Gary Player, Nancy Lopez, and Kathy Whitworth have graced the course’s manicured fairways and greens.
