Boyne USA Resorts adds enhancements
BOYNE FALLS – The 2008 golf season figures to be an exciting one at Boyne USA Resorts.
There are new packages, course enhancements and even the return of caddies.
Boyne Highlands' Heather course will offer caddies and forecaddies in 2008. The Heather, designed by highly acclaimed architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1966, is a classic parkland layout ideal for walking. Forecaddies are a standard service from 6:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays from June 14-August 31. The forecaddie fee is $15 per person and caddies are $35 per person (gratuity not included) and require advance reservation.
The new Gr8 Escape Golf Vacation offers unlimited golf, breakfast and dinner daily, lesson options, golf tournament, cocktail parties and more, starting at $835 and the new three-day package at $535.
Course enhancements are across all eight of Boyne’s courses. New tee boxes have been added to select holes at Bay Harbor, as well as the continuation of bunker renovations highlighted by the addition of tour-grade white sand on the Quarry nine. Bunker sand upgrades were completed on the Links nine in 2007. Bay Harbor Golf Club's driving range has also been expanded to provide additional space for driving and teaching areas. In addition, Bay Harbor has partnered with GPS Industries to offer yardage systems on all carts. The new GPS systems equip golfers with accurate yardages to the pin and fly-over views of each hole.
Bunker renovations with tour-grade white sand has been a welcome addition to the Donald Ross Memorial course at Boyne Highlands as well as irrigation upgrades on The Alpine at Boyne Mountain and the addition of a new fleet of golf carts at Boyne Highlands and Bay Harbor that are 30 percent more efficient than previous carts.
