McGladrey Championships take off

 

BATH – The second PGA McGladrey Team Championship, a national championship for amateur golfers, is taking off in Michigan. Three-person teams can register on-line at www.pga.com/teamchampionship to be part of the nationwide grassroots best-ball amateur championship, managed and operated by The PGA of America.  In the upcoming weeks, local qualifying events will be held at several prominent golf facilities throughout Michigan. The PGA McGladrey Team Championship will celebrate its national championship Oct. 20-22 at Pinehurst (N.C.) Resort. The local qualifiers include The Wyndgate in Rochester (May 1), Blythefield Country Club in Belmont (May 17), Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids (May 17), Prestwick Village in Highland (May 31), Lincoln Golf Course in Muskegon (June 1), Boulder Lakes in Chesterfield (June 14), Grand Haven Golf Club (June 14), Huron Breeze in Au Gres (June 22), Orchard Hills in Buchanan (June 28), Sugarbush in Davison (June 29), Grand Traverse Resort & Spa in Acme (July 10), Cross Creek in South Lyon (July 12), Detroit Golf Club (July 12), Traverse City Golf & Country Club (July 12), Owosso Country Club (July 13), Scenic Golf & Country Club in Caseville (July 13), Treetops in Gaylord (July 13), Golf Club at Thornapple Pointe in Grand Rapids (July 17), Manistee National (July 17), Ella Sharp in Jackson (July 19), Sauganash in Three Rivers (July 19), The Heathers in Bloomfield Hills (July 19), The Moors in Portage (July 26), Ann Arbor CC (July 26), Edgewood CC in Commerce Township (July 26), Harbor Point in Harbor Springs (July 26), Paint Creek in Lake Orion (July 26), Walnut Creek in South Lyon (July 26), Eagle Eye in Bath (July 27) and Sunnybook CC in Grandville (Aug. 2).
